In 2011, Theatre was given department status. Along with the departments of Art and Music, Theatre is now a part of the School of the Arts, College of Arts and Humanities. The University of West Georgia Theare Department is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theatre, which means, our theatre curriculum, both in the classroom and in the rehearsal room, meets the highest national standards. The UWG Theatre department is only one of five theatre programs with national accreditation in the state of Georgia. Our Department also participates in KCATF and GTC each year.
